What am I looking for?

  • Jewelry is an artform that allows us to make statements about ourselves, our moods, and our sense of style.
  • What one person considers beautiful, another may see as tacky. Not everyone likes opera or rock and roll music.
  • Jewelry components used for our jewelry include semi-precious gemstones, crystal (Swarovski almost exclusively), sterling silver beads, clasps, and wire, vermeil beads and clasps, shells, and polymer clay.
  • Necklaces can be collars (3 or more strands 12-13 inches), chokers (14-16 inches), princess (17-19 inches), matinee (20-23 inches), opera (28-34 inches), rope (40-45 inches) or lariat (48 inches or longer).
  • Bracelets are generally 6 1/2" to 7 1/2" long, and anklets 7 1/2" to 8 1/2 ".

How is our jewelry made?

  • Jewelry is made using a combination of bead stringing, wire wrapping, twisting, and/or hammering.
  • Our sterling silver bracelets are made by winding wire around a mandrel, and cutting the wire into rings or ovals. The rings or ovals are joined to make a "chain" or bracelet.
  • Before anything can be made, it must be designed. For all silver items, the pattern of the links must be designed. For items that are made from beads or other components, color schemes, bead sizes, and length of the product must be taken into account.
  • One of the most difficult things to do when designing a piece is to make the components in the pattern work out to the size you want for the end product. It is not unusual to have a beautiful design work out to 8" when you wanted a 7 1/2" bracelet. That can cause a total redesign of the piece if dropping a bead or two or a link or two makes the pattern uneven.
